DIODE TECHNOLOGY
Laser hair removal is an effective and mostly permanent treatment to remove unwanted hair. Most body areas can be treated but the hair must contain melanin for the treatment to be effective; that means the hair must be brown or black!
Diode laser hair removal uses a single wavelength of light that has a high absorption rate in melanin and incorporates skin cooling technology to protect the skin.
The science behind Laser Hair Removal - Buckle up!...
In the anagen stage of hair growth, the hair is connected to the dermal papilla which you can see in the diagram below. This supplies blood and nutrients needed for hair growth. If we can damage the dermal papilla this will significantly disrupt and delay future hair growth.
So how do we do it?...
The laser light targets melanin found in hair. The light energy is absorbed by the hair and is transferred to heat. If the hair is still connected to the dermal papilla (i.e. in the anagen stage of growth) during your laser treatment the heat will damage it!
Because hair growth is random and we cannot determine exactly how many hairs are in the anagen stage at any one time, it is impossible to damage every hair follicle in one session. Most clients will need an average of 6-10 sessions for optimum results but some clients may require less or more depending on individual factors.
